Good to Know: Park at a small stoney area by the road. There is no beach at high tide, usually 2.5 to 3 hours after high tide before enough space is available. There is a muscle bed and some rocks which curve around from the south of the parking which can be covered up at high/mid tide. There are also submerged rocks to the north of the spot close to shore. The wind can often by much stronger out in the middle of the lough, particularly when is southerly, than at the parking spot.

Good to Know: Very little beach at high tide and so launching not advisable then. Some rocks close to the groin start to appear mid-tide. The beach can often be busy so take care to avoid other beach users.

Good to Know: Almost no beach at high tide. Park in the public car park at the north end of the beach. When the tide is high the rocks at the north end of the beach can be underwater.

Good to Know: There is no beach at high tide but it's possible to launch the kite on the large grassy area in front of the parking and walk to the water from there. In an easterly there is flat water behind the groin at the north end of the beach.

Good to Know: Park at Rosemount playing fields at the end of Island View Road (not available if there is a football match on). Launch the kite on the playing fields and walk out through the gate with the kite in the air (can be dangerous if the wind is gusty) This spot is very tidal and can be completely dry a few hours after high tide. There are submerged rocks within approximately 20 meters of the shoreline most of the way around the spot. Much of the bay is waist deep for two hours either side of high tide and the water can often be flat, so can be a good place progress.

Good to Know: Park at a gap in the wall opposite the old borstal, half a mile south of the village. At high tide it is possible to launch at the car park south of the village, but there are rocks directly opposite and south of the car park.

Good to Know: Avoid the area in front of the car park that is reserved for swimmers

Good to Know: Wave spot. This is a National Trust beach and there is a charge to take a car on to the beach. Be careful of getting the car stuck at high tide.

Good to Know: Avoid the zone between the flags designated for swimmers. Can be gusty as the wind swings beyond SW towards W. A great spot for waves (flat water conditions are rare).

Good to Know: Wave spot. Not much space on the beach at high tide. Can be very busy with sun bathers etc. during the high season.
Wind Direction: E through to SW
Tide Info: Good in all tide states
Good to Know: Flat to small kickers. Beach restrictions apply and vary depending on the time of the year, check with the rental centre (Parres) at the south end of the beach, or other kite surfers. In general you should launch at the designated area in front of the rental centre and then stay 200m from the main Santa Pola beach.
